Jorge Vaz Gomes is a Lisbon, Portugal based video and photography artist, who graduated early on as environmental engineer and later on graduated at ETIC Lisbon in Directing and at ARCO Lisbon in Photography. Has been working as filmmaker, photographer and editor for the past eight years. He participated in several collective photography exhibitions and had his first solo exhibition at Teatro Municipal da Guarda in 2013, with the work “Demons”. From 2011 to 2013, he wrote and directed a weekly based emission on a portuguese channel called “Canal Q”, on the form of a short film, first called “O Enviado Especial”, and later called “Repórter Mudo”. He also directed other short films, such as: “Sobre a mesa”, 2010; “A encomenda”, 2011; “O Quarteirão” 2015; and “Jean-Claude”, 2016, which recently won an honorable mention from the Tree of Life Jury Award Prize at IndieLisboa International Film Festival.
